  • A slightly Dramatized account of my day

    Well...it is dramatized....you're forewarned....

So mostly today was average...I practiced, taught a lesson, and accompanied for my lone vocalist (having one person to accompy, by the way, is a beautiful thing). I decided (under the inflence of Cammie) to run before dinner, and set out on my usual route. Near the end I notice a yappy little dog....no big deal, I encounter them sometimes, and usually they bark and look scared of me. Well this one is yapping a lot, and then runs at me...again, I'm not too worried at this point. But THEN it jumps at me and I noticed it's teeth are bared and it looks like a mean little booger. And apprently I'm right, because it jumps up and BITES me!!!! Right on my thumb!! And then I'm all nervous, cause this little dog is attacking me, and stuff, so I am trying to side step it, and it's still following me. I'm sure I looked pretty stupid. So finally it leaves me alone and I finish my run wih a bleeding thumb. This guy on a bike noticed it, and asked if I was alright...I'm sure he was laughing inside though. Stupid dogs. No one ever gets attacked by a cat while they're on a run.

The thing was it wasn't even really scary, cause it was a small dog, and I was contemplating kicking it really hard. I mena a big dog would be scary, but this little guy would probably be knocked out with a swift kick to the head. It affirmed that I think pretty logically in unexpected situations, which is something you might or might not expect of me. One more way I might not be a typical woman.

I'm also not a typical woman because I don't really care for Beth Moore. Also I like grasshoppers. And moths. And spiders.

And that concludes my first xanga post in two months.

  • I'm baaaack!!

That's right people! I am offically back in America! Yesterday lasted a looong tim (37 hours or something...). Right now I'm pretty overwhelmed at this country and my family and the internet and pretty much everything around me. Hmmmm. I think I'll keep this pretty short, but know that I am back in the world of interenet communication. It was a really really amazing summer, and I hope to have time to catch up with a lot of you, and tell you some of the stories. Yeah. I'me going to go try not to sleep, and practice for the wedding I'm playing for in two days:) I hope everyone's summer has been really great so far!

  • My it's been a busy few weeks! I initially felt guilty admitting to myself that I was busy, it being finals week, and me decidedly not having finals. Then I realized that it is still possible to busy, even if you're not in college. So that's good I guess. Anyway, I was busy. And I developed allegeries again. I blame Jeff, because when we went to the Roths for dinner and soul-to-soul, he had allergies, so I'm pretty sure he gave them to me. So some things that have happened recently:

    • Tahsa and officially have the little yellow house! No subleaser, which makes things a bit tighter financially than I had hoped, but It'll all work out I'm sure.
    • Soul-to-souls with Ally, Cammie, Amanda and Casey. Good times. I liked hearing thier stories and seeing what God has done, and is doing through my sisters. It is pretty beautiful.
    • Going crazy the day before I left Kirksville. Eeeeee!! I hate packing a lot, and I not only had to pack for home, but for EA as well, cause I won't be back in the ville anytime soon. I didn't get much sleep Friday night, we'll just say that.
    • Amie graduated highschool. Yeah. That was really weird. She and a few friends did their own ceremony, and it was really neat and personal. Still weird though. Come fall, my parents will only have Beth left at home, and in a couple years, they'll be empty nesters.
    • Some good talk with my family. I like them. I asked my parents what they wish would have been different about the way they were raised. Then Mom asked me and the girls what we wish would have been included in our childhood. Beth listlessly replied, "Santa." (poor kid never had a chance to believe in him....Jesse and I squelched it real quick.). She's funny.

Well, I'm off to get a typhoid shot now. Fun times.
